She was born in the Dusheti district, in the village Choporti. She completed her secondary school education there. Afterwards, she graduated from Tbilisi State Medical Institute, and in 1993–1996 she completed a clinical medical residency. After graduating from the institute, she worked both at district hospitals and at the First and Ninth Hospitals of the city of Tbilisi, as a clinician, as well as at the Emergency Management Service of Tbilisi City Hall in various responsible managerial positions. During her work, she participated in emergency management projects at the international, regional, and local levels, as well as in scientific projects of the Georgian Hypertension Association and the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
Since 2012, she has been living in emigration in the United States of America
